Is God Evil?

Many people believe that inaction is morally equivalent to committing an evil yourself. If it is within your ability to help others at little to no cost to yourself, is not helping immoral? If this is true, then any supreme being that exists must be evil, as it is condoning all of the atrocities that go on in the world. The Greek philosopher Epicurus originally posited this argument:

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”

So, is inaction morally equivalent to committing an evil act yourself? Does this mean that God is evil?
