This is a question I believe that is very hard to answear but i will proceed from a Hindu's perspective. We all are bound to suffer, life on Earth is very tough and confusing. We all go through many lives trying to free ourselves from suffering and return to where our souls came from. Our suffering comes from desires- in specific ones that are observed through the senses. The more attachment one has the more they suffer. To free one self from desires, one must have great control of the mind and thats how we can achieve salvation.
There is poverty and suffering in the world because many of these undeveloped countries does not have enough funding by the government for their citizens. Not only that, but because these countries have a huge percentage in population in which it is difficult to provide financial need equally to each person. This could be towards clothing, food, and shelter. Furthermore, these types of necessities must be encounter in one's life in able to survive, and to have a stable living condition.
Like Mai said the government doesn’t fund enough for their own citizens. The world has such poverty and suffering not only because lack of government funding but because certain countries aren’t stable on their own and they don’t have the proper educated mind to do well on their own. Many undeveloped countries don’t have plenty of jobs and because of the low percentage of employment; families don’t have a way of getting money to buy food and such. A lot of countries that face poverty and suffering are hot countries that barely have precipitation. With perception comes water for crops, and then comes food from the crops that feed families. Another reason why the world has poverty and suffering is because of snobby rich countries that don’t bother sharing and helping out to the full extent. Throughout this world there are several rich countries and if they all pitched in and helped these undeveloped suffering countries the world will be a better place especially knowing poverty has decreased and countries are helping one another.
The human species displayed that they are able to be selfish and greedy like no other. And to be honest, most of these third world countries suffer from the after math of human destruction. I strongly believe the government in these countries have the money to start fixing these areas and it's obvious the money is going somewhere else. The way I enterpret the situation, there are people who care to an extent, and then there are people who just don't care at all. It all comes down to human nature and how people can feel sympathy, and if that sympathy is strong enough to push humans/individuals into helping one another in an appropriate mannner than poverty can easily come to an end.(On the other hand poverty does benefit us, which is why I think it is still an on going issue, but that's another topic on it's own). -CAMILLE*
I believe the reason for poverty is humans are selfish and think for themselves. They do not think for others. They only think about what can benefit them. There are a few generous people out there who try to help as much as they can by the means of donations. Every little bit helps. On the other hand, what Camizzle said about how poverty benefits us. It is true, because if we were to lend a helping hand to the point where we are just giving them everything, they can easily take advantage of that and pretend that they are suffering from poverty. Poverty seems to act as a scale that balances out the world. Sure it sounds like a bad thing, but we can't have too much of a good thing either.
Poverty and suffering has been a controversial topic for many years and unfortunately there has not yet been a solution to fix this academic. The reason why I believe this issue has yet been able to be solved is because there is not enough money in the world to provide for each individual that has gone through or is going through this issue. The people in society who has been living in poverty and dealing with any agonizing, pain and suffering are unable to be treated due to the fact that they may not have the enough money to fund for there problems. There are organizations and charities to help people dealing with this along with some help from the government but i don't believe it is possible to help every single person around the world dealing with these issue because of the lack of money each country has.
Suffering and poverty comes from greed. As apart of human nature, no one is satisfied. Human beings always want more. The sense of possession is so strong that it makes one only to think for oneself. Hence creates selfishness. So, it comes down to all humans beings obsessed with possession. Because possessions make people more capable, they have the desire for more possessions. Possession (money essentially) is the only power that human beings can have. And who doesn't want to feel powerful? Even if one doesn't want it, it is too tempting. These temptations, unsatisfactory behavior of human beings, create poverty in the world. This is why we see one wanting more than what oneself already has. When one wants more, it is usually that they take away from others. In the end, it all creates sufferings.
Yin and yang. It is impossible to have only good and happiness in the world or only pain and evil. Nothing is perfect and there are flaws in everything. Good cannot exist without evil and evil cannot exist without good. If people did not cause suffering and poverty then it would just be some animal, or a cosmic force. For things to exist there must be balance in the universe.
Religiously, I believe that God gives us an amount of suffering to test us, and he doesn't give more than He knows we can handle. Maybe, God knows that they are stronger and are capable of handling it better than others so He tests them with it. It is hard for us to understand this since God works in mysterious ways which we can never fully understand. Those who suffer from poverty, etc. are suffering really badly, and we can never imagine how much pain and hardship comes with it unless we have suffered it ourselves.
